FitKind Community Guidelines

Welcome to FitKind!
FitKind is a community of people passionate about fitness, health, and supporting each other's journeys. These Community Guidelines help us maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for everyone.
Our Core Values:
- Kindness: Be supportive and respectful
- Positivity: Encourage, don't discourage
- Authenticity: Be genuine and honest
- Inclusivity: Welcome everyone, regardless of fitness level, background, or goals
- Safety: Protect yourself and others
1. Be Kind and Respectful
✅ DO:
- Encourage and support others
- Celebrate progress, no matter how small
- Offer constructive feedback when asked
- Respect different fitness goals, methods, and journeys
- Disagree respectfully and constructively
- Use inclusive language
❌ DON'T:
- Bully, harass, or intimidate anyone
- Make personal attacks or insults
- Body-shame or fitness-shame anyone
- Mock or belittle others' achievements or struggles
- Engage in discriminatory behavior
- Troll or deliberately provoke others
2. Keep Content Appropriate
✅ DO:
- Share workout achievements and progress
- Post progress photos that are appropriate and tasteful
- Share helpful tips and advice
- Ask questions and seek guidance
- Post motivational content
- Credit others when sharing their content
❌ DON'T:
- Post sexually explicit or suggestive content
- Share graphic violence or gore
- Post content that promotes eating disorders
- Share dangerous or reckless workout practices
- Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content
- Share content that violates intellectual property rights
Progress Photos Guidelines:
- Photos should focus on fitness progress, not sexuality
- Appropriate gym/workout attire is fine
- Avoid overly revealing or suggestive poses
- Consider cropping or blurring faces if preferred
- Respect that not everyone wants to see certain types of content
3. Foster a Positive Environment
✅ DO:
- Focus on the "why," not just the "what"
- Share struggles and setbacks (they're part of the journey!)
- Celebrate others' PRs and milestones
- Offer help when you have expertise
- Ask before giving unsolicited advice
- Use content warnings for potentially sensitive topics
❌ DON'T:
- Promote unhealthy body standards or unrealistic expectations
- Give medical, nutritional, or training advice beyond your qualifications
- Shame others for rest days or deload weeks
- Compare yourself negatively to others (or compare others negatively)
- Promote dangerous supplements or practices
- Engage in "fitspiration" that's actually harmful
Remember: Everyone is on their own journey. What works for you may not work for others.
4. Respect Privacy and Safety
✅ DO:
- Respect others' privacy settings
- Ask permission before posting about or tagging others
- Report concerning or dangerous content
- Keep personal information (yours and others') private
- Use privacy settings to control who sees your content
❌ DON'T:
- Share others' personal information (doxxing)
- Post photos of others without consent
- Share location details that could compromise safety
- Stalk, track, or harass users on or off FitKind
- Impersonate others or create fake accounts
- Attempt to contact users who've blocked you
5. Be Authentic and Honest
✅ DO:
- Be yourself
- Share genuine progress and setbacks
- Credit sources when sharing information
- Disclose sponsored content or affiliations
- Correct mistakes if you share incorrect information
- Acknowledge when you're not an expert
❌ DON'T:
- Pretend to be someone you're not
- Lie about your achievements or progress
- Use misleading photos (old photos, heavily edited, etc.)
- Promote products without disclosing sponsorships
- Spread misinformation about fitness, health, or nutrition
- Create multiple accounts to evade bans or manipulate
Performance-Enhancing Substances:
- Be honest if you use PEDs (performance-enhancing drugs)
- Don't promote or encourage PED use
- Don't give advice about PEDs
- Respect that FitKind is for natural and enhanced athletes alike
- Follow laws in your jurisdiction regarding PEDs
6. Specific Content Policies
6.1 Prohibited Content
Absolutely NOT allowed:
- Illegal content (piracy, drugs, weapons, etc.)
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Non-consensual intimate images
- Content promoting terrorism or extremism
- Content that incites violence
- Sale of illegal goods or services
- Phishing, scams, or fraud
Strongly Discouraged:
- Graphic injury photos
- Eating disorder promotion (pro-ana, pro-mia content)
- Extreme weight loss methods
- Dangerous challenges or stunts
- Self-harm content
- Suicide or self-harm promotion
6.2 Sensitive Topics
If discussing sensitive topics (injury, mental health, body image struggles):
- Use content warnings where appropriate
- Be supportive and non-judgmental
- Provide resources if applicable (crisis hotlines, professional help)
- Don't diagnose or prescribe solutions
- Respect that others may have different experiences
6.3 Misinformation
Don't spread misinformation about:
- Health, fitness, or nutrition
- Supplements or substances
- Training methods
- Scientific studies (don't cherry-pick or misrepresent)
If you're unsure, say so or cite reputable sources.
6.4 Spam and Commercial Activity
Not Allowed:
- Spamming (repetitive posts, comments, DMs)
- Unsolicited advertising or promotion
- Pyramid schemes or MLMs
- Selling without permission
- Link farming or SEO manipulation
- Bot accounts or automation
Allowed (with restrictions):
- Coaches/trainers sharing expertise (not spamming)
- Occasional promotion if it adds value
- Sponsorships disclosed clearly
- Professional accounts if authentic and valuable

7. Interactions and Communication
7.1 Comments and Reactions
- Be positive and constructive
- Don't hijack others' posts to promote yourself
- Respect that reactions are optional (don't demand them)
- Report inappropriate comments
- Don't engage with trolls (report and move on)
7.2 Direct Messages
- Don't send unsolicited spam or promotions
- Respect boundaries (if someone doesn't respond, don't push)
- Don't send inappropriate or sexual messages
- Report harassment immediately
- Block users who make you uncomfortable
7.3 Following and Unfollowing
- It's okay to follow or unfollow anyone
- Don't guilt-trip others about unfollowing
- Respect private accounts and follow requests
- Don't create multiple accounts to follow someone who blocked you
8. Reporting and Enforcement
8.1 How to Report
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines:
In-App:
- Tap the three dots (...) on content
- Select "Report"
- Choose reason and submit
Email:

- Include: link to content, description of violation, your username (optional)
For urgent safety concerns:
- Email: [email protected]
- We prioritize reports of imminent harm
8.2 What We Review
We review reports based on:
- Severity of violation
- Context and intent
- Frequency and pattern of behavior
- Community impact
We may:
- Remove content
- Issue warnings
- Temporarily suspend accounts
- Permanently ban accounts
- Report to law enforcement (for illegal content)
8.3 False Reports
Don't abuse the reporting system:
- Don't report content you simply disagree with
- Don't mass-report to harass users
- False reporting may result in account suspension
8.4 Appeals
If your content was removed or account suspended:
- Email: [email protected]
- Include: your username, what was removed/suspended, why you believe it was a mistake
- We'll review and respond within 7 days
9. Special Circumstances
9.1 Medical Emergencies
If you see content suggesting someone is in immediate danger:
- Report to FitKind immediately ([email protected])
- Contact local emergency services if appropriate
- Do NOT attempt to diagnose or treat the person
- Provide support and resources (crisis hotlines, etc.)

9.2 Minors
FitKind is 13+ (16+ in EEA). If you see content from someone under 13/16:
- Report to [email protected]
- We'll verify age and take appropriate action
If you see content exploiting minors:
- Report immediately to [email protected]
- We report to NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children) and law enforcement
9.3 Intellectual Property
If you see content that infringes your copyright:
- Email: [email protected]
- Include: your contact info, description of your work, location of infringing content, statement of good faith belief
9.4 Impersonation
If someone is impersonating you:
- Email: [email protected]
- Include: your real account, the impersonating account, proof of identity
- We'll investigate and remove fake accounts
10. Additional Guidelines by Feature
10.1 The Pulse (Real-Time Activity)
- Don't spam workouts to appear more active
- Don't judge others' workout frequency or intensity
- Celebrate seeing friends working out
10.2 The Stream (Feed)
- Share genuine moments, not just highlight reels
- Use captions to add context
- Credit exercises, programs, or coaches you're following
10.3 Training Plans and Programs
- Don't share copyrighted programs without permission
- Credit coaches/creators when sharing their plans
- Don't sell or distribute others' paid programs
10.4 Challenges and Competitions
- Play fair and honest
- Don't cheat or manipulate results
- Support fellow participants
- Respect that challenges are optional
11. Professional and Creator Accounts
If you're a fitness professional, coach, influencer, or creator:
✅ DO:
- Disclose qualifications and certifications
- Provide value to the community
- Engage authentically
- Follow advertising guidelines
- Disclose sponsorships and affiliations
- Respect client/athlete privacy
❌ DON'T:
- Make false claims about credentials
- Guarantee specific results
- Promote dangerous practices
- Spam or excessively self-promote
- Poach clients from other coaches
- Share client information without consent

12. Our Commitment
We commit to:
- Enforcing these guidelines fairly and consistently
- Being transparent about moderation decisions
- Protecting user privacy during investigations
- Improving safety features based on feedback
- Listening to the community
- Evolving guidelines as the community grows
We won't:
- Tolerate hate, harassment, or abuse
- Allow illegal or dangerous content
- Sell your data to advertisers
- Use AI moderation without human oversight for serious violations
13. Your Responsibility
As a FitKind community member, you're responsible for:
- Following these guidelines
- Reporting violations you see
- Being part of a positive community
- Educating yourself about healthy fitness practices
- Protecting your own safety and wellbeing
